After the sturdy built stocks have been examined, you or your assistant‘s head is padlocked in the stocks by members of the audience. A cloth is held up in front of the Stocks for a brief moment, and then dropped to find the performer has successfully escaped.
This illusionette can also be played for great comedy. There is a secret compartment in which you can hide a metal file, hack saw, a book entitled, “How To Pick Lock” etc. So that when the committee drops the cloth you are still locked in the stocks. You ask for a few more seconds, then when the cloth is dropped again you are seen with one of the other items. Always under your control, you can escape at any time you wish. Also can be performed as a transposition or substitution. Folds in half for easy transport and fast set up.
